“Fondation Diane” and “Hotel-Dieu de France” Open the 1st Social Pediatric Clinic in Lebanon to Welcome All Children from 0 to 18 years old, at No Cost!
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Health, “Fondation Diane” and “Hotel-Dieu de France” organized the inauguration of the “Clinique Sociale de l’Enfant” at the heart of HDF; a one-of-a-kind social pediatric clinic for all children in Lebanon, especially the underprivileged ones, from birth till adulthood, regardless of their nationality, with no social or racial discrimination, almost for free!
Under the title of “Equal Quality Medical Care for All Children in Lebanon!”, the ceremony was held in the presence of local, regional and international key figures from the public and private sector including the the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Mrs. Joanna Wronecka, the Unicef Representative in Lebanon, Mr. Edouard Beigbeder, the Lebanese Former Minister of State, Mr. Roger Dib, the Lebanese Former Minister for Displaced Persons, Mrs. Alice Chaptini, the Former Judge at the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Marise Amm, His Excellency Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firass Abiad represented by the Director of Medical Directorate, Mr. Joseph Helou, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of HDF, Rev. Professor Salim Daccache s.j., as well as the Founder & President of “Fondation Diane”, Diana Fadel & the press.
Open to all families residing in Lebanon, the clinic offers pediatric consultations mostly for marginalized children to help them have access to a medical care of high value. It aims at providing quality medical services through Hotel-Dieu de France, a trustworthy hospital center in a context of skyrocketing living costs.
It is the 1st Center of its kind to offer diagnosis, vaccinations, preventive & curative care and psychological support. The consultation fees are minimal and they are aligned with the rates of the primary healthcare centers set by the Ministry of Health. The vaccination schedule is also based on the national immunization calendar adopted by the Ministry.
Through this milestone, “Fondation Diane” and “Hotel-Dieu de France” aim at offering a sustainable solution to the health problematic at the national level. The overall objective is to eliminate disparities and reduce inequalities occurring in the health sector, and consequently contributing to the SDG3 to ensure “Good Health & Well-being”, as an additional step towards Sustainable Development.
