*Sustainable Education for Water Conservation in Akkar

One of the ultimate objectives of the Community Support Program (CSP) was the sustainable management of water in the densely populated area of Akkar.  The CEEDD, through a grant fund from CSP, proposed several activities that help spread water awareness in the Akkar district.  The project had a main objective as stipulated in the project proposal to build the capacity of the teachers to raise the students’ awareness pertaining to the water conservation in the Akkar district.

 

The above objective was met through a set of activities including teachers’ and school staff trainings and coaching, pre- and post-tests in schools, and student congresses. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in February 2020, a hybrid methodology whereby presential and digital resources and tools were proposed. Through the project activities, the indicated targets whereby sustainable water use and management awareness was raised among 55 students and 10 principals and teachers at the school in Akkar/Bebnine, at Al Mourabia Marzouka Al Mouzakzek Public School for Girls.

Youth Learning, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Program

The YLEAP project aims to foster green infrastructure in Lebanon by creating a network of innovation support organizations, improving organizational capacity, establishing a monitoring and evaluation unit, and developing goals and action plans for 2023. It also contributes to the sustainability of Fondation Diane by planning and implementing fundraising events, and enhancing proposal writing skills.

The YLEAP 1.0 project helped to build organizational capacity and to strengthen the sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem in Lebanon through the development of an exchange platform, a community of practitioners, and the organization of green entrepreneurship labs.

The YLEAP 2.0 project aimed to foster green infrastructure in Lebanon by building the organizational capacity of Fondation Diane’s management team, earning the NGO a gold certificate, creating a solid brand identity, and providing website development. A coalition of support organizations was created to strengthen the sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem through the development of an exchange platform, a festival, a Green Market, and the organization of green entrepreneurship labs. Match making events between investors/donors and eco-entrepreneurs were held.

The YLEAP 3.0 also works on strengthening the sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem in Lebanon through matchmaking events between entrepreneurs and donors/investors, a community of practitioners, and the organization of green entrepreneurship labs, the Green Market and the EcoSwitch Coalitions’ Festival.
