Reducing e-waste toxicity and the number of old batteries dumped into our landfills
In 2018, “Fondation Diane” launched the “Battariyat, Battariyat”; a national batteries collection initiative in Lebanon in cooperation with Liban Post and Energizer.
It is a nationwide project that involves the collection, sorting, safe disposal and recycling of used/old batteries with the aim of cleaning the communities from their hazardous and toxic effects – on our soil, water, and consequently on animals and humans – if dumped into our landfills. In parallel, “Fondation Diane” signed a memorandum of understanding with Ecoserv to safely dispose of and recycle these batteries.
120 specialized drop zones are available all over Lebanon in Liban Post and ABC branches.
